Message: Excellent care, friendly staff and affordable. After taking my dog to the emergency vet who told me she surgery as soon as possible. I left there at 2:30 am and they said they would send the info to Franksville for me and before I could even give them a call in the morning, they called me a were able to get her in immediately and the surgery was 1/3 of the cost it would’ve been at the emergency clinic. They were friendly and empathetic, but importantly took a compassionate care approach to the treatment of my poor pup. She is resting comfortably now. Thank you!

Message: Staff is always very sweet and caring. Reasonably priced too. The new veterinarian Dr. Allison was super pleasant and sweet. Best vet clinic ever!

Message: We have had a good experience with this vet. Docking a star because I took time out of a busy Monday to take my dog for a weigh-in. I was told that no appointment was necessary and I assumed that a vet would be open on Monday. Please update your hours on your Google page. I drove to the clinic only to see a closed sign. Judging by the business hours listed on Google I assumed it would be open. A wasted 40 minutes.

Message: In July 2021, I brought my cat Simon in with a swollen, inflamed leg/shoulder. After taking an X-ray, the vet (Dr. Ed Susmilch) was concerned that it likely could be due to bone cancer, so I scheduled a biopsy. A few days later, I brought Simon in and met with the doctor. He had consulted with a colleague and had concerns that, regardless of the biopsy results, the leg might not be salvageable. I asked about amputation (which was already brought up in the previous visit) and, after discussing options, made the difficult choice to remove my cat’s limb. Dr. Susmilch was supportive of this and agreed it would be best for Simon. He performed the surgery and I was able to bring my brave boy home the same day. The staples/stitches from the surgery were clean and there was minimal swelling, no blood/pus and my guy was already hopping around the house.. Cut to one week later and the biopsy results from the amputated limb came back: bone cancer. The only course of treatment: leg amputation. Not only did Dr. Susmilch and his staff save my pet from having to undergo an unnecessary bone biopsy (both invasive and painful) but he saved me time and money by paying special attention to Simon’s illness.. I would highly recommend Prairie Side Franksville if you’re looking for a talented, skilled vet who cares more about helping animals than guilting worried pet owners into spending unnecessary money.
